Selfie seeking tourist bitten by crocodile in Thailand

Hang on a moment will you whilst I take a selfie, it must have happened to you at some time, because mankind, well those under a certain age, seemed to have become obsessed with the narcissistic behaviour of taking pictures of themselves, if possibly with a celebrity of some sort near them.
Taking a selfie is what a 41 year old French female tourist was doing when visiting the visiting Khao Yai national park in Thailand when the Siamese crocodile took exception to someone trespassing on “croc” territory and took a bite out of her leg. Now we do not know if the crocodile was never happy with pictures of himself, more likely it was just a natural thing for Mr Croc to do.
It is known that Siamese crocodiles were once ubiquitous across South East Asia, but man in his desire to shoot and kill wild animals, along with loss of habitat has seen the species decline over the years. Speaking to an official, it is understood that two crocodiles had made their home on that particular section of the park for years, so in order to prevent our two crocodiles from getting a liking for human flesh, they erected warning signs saying in Thai and English “Danger Crocodile No Swimming,” it never mentioned selfies though!
This is not the only dangerous incident to have happened when taking selfies, statistic show that it can be a dangerous pastime. The hunt for more “likes” and followers, along with the chance to go viral is pushing people to engage in some pretty idiotic reckless and sometimes even life-threatening behaviour. Deaths resulting in the need of some to take the perfect selfie have meant that it is a more dangerous pursuit than climbing Everest, American Football or shark attacks. Figures for 2015 show that Shark attacks posted a modest 8, American Football had 12 deaths; Everest came in with 17 and selfies together with skateboarding 28. Nothing came close to the 625 deaths from Erotic asphyxiation though, but we had better leave that there!
Our French victim was taken to local hospital and she is expected to make a complete recovery, naturally we hope she got a good picture and the croc was in focus!
